It does not overheat or burn out when overlapped. It can withstand a voltage rating of 240 Volts and a power rating of 8 Watts/ft. Cable has rugged polyolefin UV interior and flame-retardant thermoplastic exterior jacket for enhanced strength. It stops valve and pipe freeze down to -40 deg F. Heating cable is cUSUL listed.
