Detailed Description: Progress Air-Tite® 6-Inch Incandescent recessed housing features a galvanized steel construction for enhanced durability. It includes full wrap-around heavy-duty plaster frame, porcelain socket with nickel-plated brass screw shell and notched housing for chalkline alignment. Bar hanger features integral nail for wood joist construction and T-bar mounting clamps for secure housing in suspended ceilings. Housing can be installed in ceiling from 1/2 - 1-1/2 Inch thick.

Housing measures 10-3/4 Inch x 7-7/8 Inch x 7-1/2 Inch. It has ceiling opening of 6-7/8 inches and can accommodate a medium base lamp. Porcelain socket with nickel-plated brass screw shell can be used as a temporary work light with 'A' lamp. It mounts to trim for optimum performance and consistent lamp position. Trim-Lok® Action forces trim to fit snugly against the ceiling. Bar hangers feature captive joist alignment tab for rapid as well as consistent positioning and locking feature to fix position. It can also be reoriented 90 deg to housing.

Housing includes a universal junction box with snap-out sides that has 1/2-Inch and 3/4-Inch knockouts with pryout slots, grounding pigtails and knockout free romex clamps for easy installation. Access to junction box for field inspection of wiring is possible by removal of the housing. It comes with pre-installed quick wire connects for easy installations. It is rated for 12 AWG conductor through-branch wiring and features a minimum of 90 deg C supply wire. Incandescent housing comprises of medium base porcelain socket with nickel-plated copper screw shell. Housing is UL listed and CSA certified.
