Crescent Electric Supply Company Receives Award From Veolia Environmental Services

EAST DUBUQUE, Illinois, March 25, 2013 — Crescent Electric Supply Company has been selected as one of this year's recipients of the Veolia Environmental Stewardship Award. In 2003, Veolia Environmental Services established the "Environmental Stewardship Award" to present to Veolia customers who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to environmental stewardship through programs, policies and procedures that help to protect the environment by recycling electrical equipment, lighting and electronic wastes.

Over the past two years, Crescent Electric has quickly embraced the opportunity to provide recycling services to their customers. Crescent Electric's national service area and dedication to sustainable lighting solutions have allowed their customers to increase recycling rates from 2011 to 2012 by 108% for lighting ballasts, 147% for batteries, and 406% for mercury-containing light bulbs. Crescent Electric maintains a strong commitment to sustainability for all their service branches as well as extending this dedication to their customers.

Each year, Veolia's selects valued customers, from each region, that have exhibited a dedication to environmental stewardship that goes above and beyond that of a simple recycling program.

In order to be selected to receive the award, Veolia has established certain criteria that must be met.

Customer Selection Criteria:

Length of relationship
Quantities of material recycled
Types of material recycled
Corporate environmental policies/programs in place
Sensitive to corporate image with employees, customers and the public

Speaking to the award, Crescent Electric's Chief Operating Officer Chris Breslin stated, "Helping our customers implement a recycling mindset and program benefits not only the environment but helps them reduce liability and reduce costs."
